SuDS In Schools Update
As part of the Stanley SUDS+ programme in schools Wear Rivers Trust Education Officers are continuing to work with 6 local Primary schools in the study area. The aim is to increase knowledge of sustainable drainage, flood reduction and engage pupils in practical activities.
In Spring and Summer 2024 they are supporting East Stanley Primary and South Stanley Juniors with their after school Eco Clubs including two types of rain gauge. Children attending an Eco-Club can learn about the rain gauges and how they will help us achieve the goals of the Stanley SUDS+ project. This initiative will also supports the curriculum in science, maths and english through the practical activities.
