Our leaky dams activities were successful and we were able to create a variety of types of dams on land owned by the Woodland Trust. The dams are designed to spill water out of the river at times of high flow increasing the use of floodplains upstream so more important areas downstream are not underwater. Thanks to the community volunteers, Northumbrian Water volunteers and schools which helped create the dams.
