Volunteering Tasks Planned For The First Half Of 2024
Our first volunteer events for 2024 have been planned. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to take part, find out more about Stanley SuDS and help improve and protect our local environment. Over the next few months take part in leaky dam repairs, litter picking, river surveying and tree planting.
Out first event is Pond Dipping and Urban Riverfly on World Wetlands Day 10-3 Friday 2nd February. Up until Thursday evening there is still time to sign up. All you need are a pair of sensible shoes, a drink and a packed lunch. Find out more about the insects living in our local waterways and what it tells us about water quality. If you can only attend for the morning please sign up and come along.
Later in February we have three litter picks. South Stanley, near St Stephen’s Centre Thursday 15th 10-12, Craghead Millennium Green Monday 26th February 10-12 and South Moor Park Thursday 29th February 10-12. Sign up via the app.
